Tekmetric, the shop platform the company says is used by more than 16,000 auto repair shops nationwide, opened early access at SEMA 2026 to Tekmetric Repair Guide, Tekmetric Receptionist, and Tekmetric DVI Quick Capture. Eligible shops begin seeing the tools in their accounts starting Nov. 3. Tekmetric is demonstrating all three at Booth 11847, Nov. 3-6.
"Shops have always done more with less, with fewer people and more demand than they can handle," said Jared Haleck, Tekmetric chief product officer. "Tekmetric started by helping them run the operation. These three new capabilities take the next step and start doing part of the work alongside the team. This is the direction Tekmetric is heading, and SEMA is where we're showing it for the first time."
Repair Guide
Repair Guide puts licensed OEM repair information inside the repair order, including procedures, wiring diagrams, torque specs and technical service bulletins. The VIN decodes automatically. Ask Tek provides plain-language search and can recommend labor times based on hours logged at real Tekmetric shops.
Launch coverage covers eight European makes: BMW, Mini, Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes, Land Rover, Jaguar and Porsche. Shops with at least 25% of repair orders on those makes get a free 30-day trial. Tekmetric says the tool supplements existing repair-info products and that coverage will expand through 2027.
Citing a 2024 Auto Care Association survey, Tekmetric notes that 51% of independent shops send up to five vehicles a month to the dealer because of vehicle data limits, with the association estimating a $3.1 billion annual cost.
DVI Quick Capture
DVI Quick Capture builds on Tekmetric's existing digital vehicle inspection templates and repair-order link. In the mobile app, technicians capture photos, video and audio notes. Tekmetric assigns media to inspection tasks and drafts customer-ready findings for the technician to review before completion. The company aims to cut a typical 30-plus-minute DVI to under 10 minutes.
Eligible Scale plan shops can enable it from the Inspections tab. It is included at no cost for those shops through 2026 and is not on other plans at this time.
Receptionist
Tekmetric Receptionist books onto the live Tekmetric schedule, answers routine hours, location and services questions from shop-configured information, deflects spam, and greets returning customers by name and vehicle. Other calls go to a callback queue with a summary and suggested next steps. Setup needs call forwarding; the shop keeps its main number.
The company cites an average of 160 missed calls a month per shop, with 90% during business hours. Early access starts with shops on RingCentral via Tekmetric Phones and Online Booking, with a free 30-day trial once enabled. General availability is planned for Q1 2027, with broader phone-system support over time via call forwarding.
More detail is in Tekmetric's company announcement.
