Transamerica Tire Co. Ltd. has added two tires to its Predator Tires lineup: the New Mutant RT Trail rugged-terrain tire and the Comptrax PR1 A/S all-season ultra-high performance tire.
New Mutant RT Trail
The New Mutant RT Trail is the newest hybrid off-road tire in Predator's New Mutant series. Predator says it blends elements of the New Mutant X-RT rugged-terrain tire and the New Mutant X-MT mud-terrain tire, aiming to deliver off-road capability while keeping on-road comfort.
A new off-road compound is designed for traction in mud, snow and loose surfaces while supporting tread life and highway handling. An intermediate void ratio and aggressive tread design are intended to balance off-road grip with highway stability.
Deep, siped tread blocks target wet and winter conditions, and reinforced shoulder grooves pair with dual sidewall designs. Sidewall lugs add biting edges for traction on rough terrain.
The New Mutant RT Trail is offered for rim diameters from 17 to 26 inches.
Comptrax PR1 A/S
The Comptrax PR1 A/S is an all-season UHP tire for passenger cars, crossovers, trucks and SUVs. Three main grooves work with curved lateral channels to evacuate water. Deep sipes in the inner shoulder and center tread blocks are designed to help in the wet, and they interlock during cornering to enhance dry traction and braking.
A solid circumferential rib next to the outer shoulder blocks is designed to improve steering response and straight-line stability.
The Comptrax PR1 A/S is available in 37 sizes for 16-inch to 24-inch applications, with more sizes planned. It carries a 40,000-mile warranty and one year of road hazard protection.
