MOTOR Information Systems, a Hearst company and provider of automotive data solutions, has introduced Next Gen DaaS, an advancement to its Data-as-a-Service architecture that delivers faster responses while retrieving more information through fewer API calls. The company also unveiled a redesigned Insights Navigator at AAPEX 2026.
Next Gen DaaS
Enhanced performance: Faster responses and fewer API calls help applications retrieve relevant information more efficiently.
Additional sorting options: New parameters give technology providers more control over how data results are ordered for display in their applications.
Expanded bidirectional data relationships: Applications can follow links between related labor, parts and repair procedure information from more starting points.
"When a customer's application needs automotive information, accessing the right data and connecting it to the next step in the workflow matter," said Mark Hirn, Product Portfolio Manager. "Next Gen DaaS helps our technology partners retrieve the information they need more quickly and with fewer API calls, while giving them greater control over result ordering and more ways to navigate related content. That helps them build the tools their customers rely on every day."
Redesigned Insights Navigator
Insights Navigator turns verified service events into interactive views of aftermarket activity. The redesigned experience is available to current Insights Navigator customers.
On the 2027 roadmap, MOTOR plans access to licensed MOTOR data within supported customer cloud data platforms, along with deeper geographic and part detail, more consistent brand and category classifications, and prepared analytics tables. The company is also evaluating natural-language exploration and API access as future capabilities, with scope and availability to be confirmed as development progresses.
"Our customers need to understand where demand is changing and what that means for their business," said Nathan Stouffer, Product Portfolio Manager. "The redesigned Navigator makes it easier to explore those questions. Our next step is to give customers more detail and more flexibility in how they work with MOTOR intelligence."
