Hankook unveiled the Smart Flex TH51 trailer tire at IAA Transportation 2026, completing its Smart Flex regional series alongside the AH51 steer and DH51 drive tires. The company positions the TH51 for high mileage and low rolling resistance versus its predecessor.
Hidden Groove technology, made with 3D-printed tread moulds, is designed to maintain grip and mileage characteristics as the tire wears, revealing interlocking 3D sipes and additional grooves at later wear stages. Zigzag and drainage grooves aim to manage water and irregular wear.
At launch the Smart Flex TH51 is offered in 385/65 R22.5, with more sizes planned. It carries 3PMSF marking for year-round use and is recommended for single axles on semitrailers and trailers.
