1stMILE, the financial experience platform for automotive, has announced 1stMILE EV Charging, a turnkey program that installs Level 3 fast chargers at multi-location tire dealers and independent repair shops. The program debuts at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas at EV booth #24713 in Central Hall.
No upfront cost for shops
Under the program, 1stMILE covers the hardware, permitting, installation and maintenance, so participating shops pay nothing up front. Shops earn a share of the charging revenue, and that share grows as utilization of the chargers grows.
Typical charging sessions bring a vehicle to 80% in 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the vehicle. 1stMILE says that window gives service teams time to greet drivers and suggest routine work such as tires, brakes, cabin filters and battery checks.
"EV drivers need two things: a fast, reliable charge and a shop they can trust with their vehicle. Until now, most shops couldn't offer the first, so those drivers rarely had a reason to discover the second. EV charging changes that. It brings new drivers onto the lot, gives service teams time to build a relationship, and turns every charge into a chance to earn a customer for life," said Kyle Lindor, VP of EV Charging at 1stMILE.
Part of a wider shop platform
The company positions EV charging as part of its work for shops beyond the card transaction. Alongside payments, 1stMILE offers flexible financing to help shops win bigger jobs and a loyalty program designed to earn the next visit. EV charging adds another revenue stream to that mix.
1stMILE brings payments, financing, loyalty and vehicle protection together in one connected experience at more than 17,000 automotive locations nationwide. Its newest offerings are 1stMILE EV Charging and business financing for shops and their small business customers.
Shop owners can find program details on the 1stMILE EV Charging page or visit booth #24713 at SEMA.
