Alliance Tire, a leading global brand of agricultural and off-highway tires, hosted its first U.S. in-field demonstration late last week to illustrate the dramatic abilities of VF farm tire technology to reduce long-term harms like soil compaction that lead to reduced yields. At the same time, the company demonstrated the premium performance and value of its new Agri Star II Radial R-1W tire when compared to the biggest named competitors in the industry.

Set just outside of Ames, Iowa—and conducted in conjunction with AgriBrink USA, a manufacturer of aftermarket central tire inflation systems (CTIS)—the event presented an opportunity for more than 70 tire dealers, OEM partners and regional farmers to be in the field with Alliance’s team of experts, and to witness firsthand how VF farm tires can reduce soil compaction by handling the same loads as a standard radial tire with 40% lower inflation pressure.

The innovative Stratified Layer Technology (SLT) of Alliance’s Agri Star II, designed to withstand the demanding challenges of modern farming, drew significant interest at the event.

“The air pressure bonus of VF tires over standard radials is dramatic,” said James Crouch, Ag Product Manager for Yokohama-ATG. “And with a CTIS system you can toggle between road and field inflation pressures in minutes, maximizing the benefit of your VF tire purchase and minimizing soil compaction – with safe and quick roading between fields.”

“We design Alliance brand tires thinking of the customer first,” said V.L. Jojan, Yokohama-ATG’s VP of product management. “The American farmer wants performance first and foremost, but doesn’t want to pay more for just a name. This week, our Alliance Agri Star II has shown itself to be an MVP when it comes to upfront cost and performance, and that means something to today’s farmers.”
