Hankook is equipping the new Porsche Panamera with its ultra-ultra-high-performance (UUHP) Ventus S1 evo Z tire, and is adding a new 21-inch fitment to the lineup. Hankook Tire Europe announced the news on Oct. 26 from its headquarters in Neu-Isenburg, Germany.

The Ventus S1 evo Z is now available on the Panamera across the full 19- to 21-inch size range, for all engines. Every fitment carries Porsche's ND0 marking on the sidewall.

New 21-inch sizes

The new 21-inch tires are bespoke Ventus S1 evo Z sizes with the ND0 marking:

  • Front: 275/35 ZR21 (103Y) XL

  • Rear: 325/30 ZR21 (108Y) XL

Hankook has supplied 19- and 20-inch sizes for the Panamera since 2021, and these are also available on the new model. According to Hankook, the tires are designed for the balance of comfort and performance the Panamera offers.

In addition to the release tests customary in this vehicle segment, the tires also went through extensive maximum-speed testing at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Hankook says this ensures a robust tire construction that can handle sporty demands at all times.

Construction and tread design

Hankook developed the Ventus S1 evo Z specifically for the high-end vehicle segment, which places particularly stringent demands on tires. Key features include:

  • Aramid carcass: A composite aramid material in a double-layer carcass. Hankook says that even when heavy use heats the tire, this structure prevents deformation that could increase the rolling circumference and reduce handling precision at high speeds. Aramid fibers are heat-resistant, strong, have good damping properties and are relatively light.

  • Steel reinforcement: High-strength steel in the belt and bead areas adds stability. Combined with a reinforced sidewall, Hankook says this delivers stability on the straights and steering precision at high and maximum speeds, along with sporty, dynamic handling.

  • Asymmetric tread: The tread pattern is designed for sporty handling, with tread blocks arranged to provide optimum block stiffness in different driving situations. Three main drainage grooves in the inner tread area evacuate water quickly on wet roads, while a significantly increased tread-positive proportion on the outer tread supports high-performance cornering and precise lateral guidance, especially in dry conditions.

Wider Ventus S1 evo Z fitments

The Ventus S1 evo Z is currently fitted as original equipment on a number of leading premium manufacturers' flagship sporty cars. It is available commercially in 15 sizes from 18 to 21 inches, with tread widths between 225 and 315 mm and aspect ratios from 45 to 30 series. The tire also made its premiere on the Porsche 911 Carrera in July 2026.
