In Search of The Perfect Lap
In May, FALKEN competed in the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring for the 27th time, and today presents a new film, The Perfect Lap, showing the challenges of endurance racing in thrilling detail.
The Perfect Lap was filmed during the 54th running of the legendary endurance race, capturing both the activity in the pits and the challenges of the demanding Nürburgring and Nordschleife circuit. The backdrop is truly remarkable: one of the world’s largest motorsport events, attracting more than 450,000 spectators. Teams typically need to complete between 156 and 162 flawless laps at the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Race to contend for overall victory. The film documents the determination of a team that returns year after year, driven by its dream of one day achieving the ultimate success in this iconic race.
The Perfect Lap is a collaboration between FALKEN and FORMAT67, a film production company specialising in automotive content. Over six days of filming in the studio, as well as on and around the legendary Nordschleife, the production crew captured compelling cinematic footage. One particular highlight was the use of a U-Crane camera rig, which enabled the team to follow the FALKEN Porsche directly on the circuit, resulting in dynamic, high-quality and, above all, authentic footage.
The entire film – from on-location shooting through to post-production – was created without the use of artificial intelligence. Real action becomes a lasting memory: every scene was filmed and produced using traditional methods, further emphasising the film’s authenticity and credibility. The objective was to tell an emotional story with an impact that endures long beyond the moment itself.
Debuting in 1999, the FALKEN Motorsport Team has now established itself among the field’s front-runners in this iconic motorsport spectacle around the Green Hell. Its greatest success to date came in 2015, when the team secured a third-place finish on the podium. As a regular contender among the leading cars, the turquoise-and-blue Porsche 911 GT3 R, driven by a line-up of high-profile drivers, has consistently delivered thrilling racing action.
The FALKEN Porsche has become a fan favourite not only among motorsport enthusiasts. With a string of top-ten finishes in recent years, both the team’s own ambitions and the expectations surrounding each race are exceptionally high. Captivating footage from the track, infused with emotion and, at times, misfortune, provides the material from which compelling films are made.
