Davanti Tyres has launched the Protoura Sport Evo, its newest flagship ultra-high performance (UHP) summer tyre.

The Evo builds on the original Protoura Sport, which launched in 2021, and is designed to give UHP and SUV owners a significant performance and safety upgrade over previous-generation fitments. Davanti says the tyre is engineered to set new standards in handling, braking and driving confidence in both wet and dry conditions.

Built for a growing UHP market

The Protoura Sport Evo is available in rim sizes from 17 to 22 inches. According to Davanti, the UHP sector has become a critical pillar of the tyre market, with rim sizes of 17 inches and above now accounting for nearly 60% of overall tyre sales and 19-inch fitments alone representing one in every six tyres sold.

The company links that shift to the growing number of modern performance vehicles, family-size SUVs and larger premium SUVs on the road, which is driving demand for tyres that can handle higher dynamic loads and performance expectations.

Tested at European proving grounds

Davanti developed the Protoura Sport Evo through research, advanced virtual design and real-world testing, validating it at leading European test facilities for durability, predictability and safety. Testing included Davanti's European Development Centre at Applus IDIADA in Spain and open-road wear evaluations by DEKRA.

Performance data and feedback from Davanti's long-standing partnership with the professional racing school at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA) in Portimão, Portugal, also informed the tyre's dynamic tuning under extreme track conditions.

Key technical features

  • Silica-enriched compound and continuous centre rib: deliver cornering traction, high-speed stability and direct steering response.

  • EV+ Ready construction: structural optimisations designed to handle the instant torque, heavier weight and quiet-cabin requirements of electric vehicles, with sidewall markings indicating EV suitability.

  • A-rated wet grip: an 'A' rating for wet grip under EU label grading, for strong braking performance in the rain.

  • Serrated tread block edges: bite into the road surface under longitudinal load to shorten braking distances.

  • Constricted outer noise channels: compress airflow to reduce cabin noise.

  • Integrated rim guard: protects alloy wheels from kerb scuffs and everyday damage.

"The Protoura Sport Evo represents an important step forward in our performance range," said Peter Cross, commercial director at Davanti Tyres. "Through continuous investment in R&D and testing at Europe’s top proving grounds, we have crafted a tyre that gives drivers complete control, exceptional wet and dry braking, and elevated safety without compromising on comfort."

Availability

The Protoura Sport Evo is initially available in 29 key sizes covering 17- to 22-inch rims, with further size expansion expected in 2027. More information is available on the Davanti Tyres website.
