Online tire retailer Tires Easy has added 16 Colony Tire stores in North Carolina and Virginia to the network of shops that install tires ordered through its website. The El Segundo, California-based company said the additions give it 170 installation locations in 88 cities across the two states.
Tires Easy called the move the first step in a wider effort to expand its installation network across the country.
Ten new locations in North Carolina
In North Carolina, 10 Colony Tire stores join the program, raising Tires Easy’s count in the state from 73 locations in 46 cities to 83 locations in 52 cities. Six of those markets are new to the retailer’s installation service: Ahoskie, Aurora, Edenton, Plymouth, Williamston and Wilmington. The other Colony Tire additions, in Elizabeth City, Fayetteville, Greenville and New Bern, give shoppers another option in cities where other Tires Easy partners already operate.
Six additions in Virginia
Six Colony Tire locations join the Tires Easy network in Virginia, where the release lists Harrisonburg, Lynchburg, Richmond, Newport News, Norfolk and Suffolk. The state total rises from 81 to 87 installation locations across 36 cities, with Tires Easy citing better coverage in Hampton Roads, the Shenandoah Valley and Central Virginia.
How the program works
Shoppers browse more than 200 tire brands on the site, pick a participating installer when they check out, book an appointment and have the tires shipped straight to the shop. Tires Easy already works with independent shops and national chains such as Pep Boys, Monro and Tire Choice.
“Buying tires online gives consumers tremendous choice and convenience, and we want the installation experience to be just as easy,” said Brian Wright, senior vice president of partnerships at Tires Easy. He added that Colony Tire “gives our customers access to a trusted local service provider in communities across North Carolina and Virginia, and this is the beginning of a much larger expansion of installation options for Tires Easy customers nationwide.”
“We’re excited about this partnership and the opportunity to make buying tires even easier for customers, while connecting them with the trusted service and expertise Colony Tire has been known for over the last 50 years,” said Scott Creighton, president of Colony Tire Corporation.
