Nokian Tyres introduces the Nokian Tyres Surpass AS01 ™, an all-season, ultra-high-performance tire infused with puncture-resistant Aramid fibers and equipped with a treadwear warranty of 55,000 miles (90,000 kilometers). The message to drivers – prepare to Expand Your Expectations™ of what a UHP tire can deliver.

The Nokian Tyres Surpass AS01 is stocked with premium features, including a high-silica compound to improve handling and longevity, a reimagined tread pattern to provide responsive braking, and a low-rolling-resistance design built to serve as a seamless fit for electric and internal-combustion-engine vehicles.

As with the latest generations of its tires, Nokian Tyres offers the Surpass AS01 with a Pothole Protection program – the first of its kind for a UHP product offered by the company. The company will replace tires damaged beyond repair by a pothole or road hazard.*

The Nokian Tyres Surpass AS01 started shipping in early January to tire shops across North America. Nokian Tyres offers the Surpass AS01 in 65 sizes, ranging from 16 to 21 inches.

“We are eager for drivers to Imagine the Experience™ on the road with the Nokian Tyres Surpass AS01,” said Nokian Tyres North America Director of Products Steve Bourassa. “Many UHP tires offer good grip and handling, but the Surpass AS01 also prioritizes durability, toughness and long life for a complete driving experience.”

Experience Performance: Stability and Handling for All Conditions

The Nokian Tyres Surpass AS01 is fast, but not furious. The tire delivers high performance thanks to a compound that features a higher proportion of silica than any tire Nokian Tyres has introduced in the all-season space. The Silica Sense Tread Compound is crafted to carve through hairpin turns and root the tire to the road for rapid acceleration.

The tire’s sturdy construction allows drivers to find the ideal balance between grace and grit. A strong outer shoulder teams up with a dedicated outer-middle rib to deliver high performance cornering. Meanwhile, the Surpass AS01’s solid center rib is enhanced with 3D siping to offer responsive handling and superior grip.

Experience Safety: Peace of Mind for Varying Weather

The Nokian Tyres Surpass AS01 is designed for speed, but also for safety. The high performance tire thrives in rainy conditions thanks to a tailored tread pattern. Wide circumferential grooves allow the tire to glide through wet tarmac, providing responsive braking and handling on slick roads. Shoulder claws and dense 3D siping give the Surpass AS01 extra grip in varying conditions.

As with Nokian Tyres’ other recent-generation products, the Surpass AS01 comes with the innovative Driving Safety Indicator. Rather than performing the penny test, drivers can view the approximate remaining tread percentage on the tire’s tread.

Experience Durability: Reliability, Longevity and Strength

The Nokian Tyres Surpass AS01 is sleek, but it’s also strong. It’s the first ultra-high performance tire to come with Nokian Tyres’ Pothole Protection warranty, thanks to puncture resistant Aramid Strong Sidewalls. The lightweight fiber adds extreme durability to help drivers expand their expectations of a UHP tire’s toughness.

The Surpass AS01’s tread design features a closed shoulder reinforced with inner supports to deliver durability and long life. From the base to the tread, the tire is built to deliver mile after mile of adventure, with a 55,000-mile (90,000-kilometer) treadwear warranty.

Sustainability is a core focus, as with Nokian Tyres’ other products. Its low-rolling-resistance compound enhances efficiency and helps minimize harmful emissions.

And the Surpass AS01 is built with EVs in mind. It comes with Nokian Tyres’ Electric Fit emblem, which signifies the tire is a seamless fit for electric vehicles. The Surpass AS01 comes in a wide range of sizes tailored to some of the most popular EVs on the market, making it an ideal replacement tire for EV drivers who want to balance efficiency, durability and performance.
