Bridgestone’s next-generation TreadStat out in January

Bridgestone will debut a next-generation tire and rim management software system that helps customers manage the life cycle cost of their tires at this year’s MINExpo this week in Las Vegas.

TreadStat is an off-the-road (OTR) performance-tracking software that uses analytics to help customers manage how their tires are performing and maximize tire usage, manage inventory, improve safety and minimize expenses in real time.

How does it work?

TreadStat helps monitor, optimize and report on the condition of tires and rims from any device, anywhere in the world. It can be downloaded from app stores onto computers, tablets and smartphones and has customizable dashboards that allow the user to forecast, budget and manage their tire program.

Bridgestone says it gives a clear, complete and real-time view of every tire’s status and performance across an entire organization. Companies can avoid tire-related equipment downtime by easily forecasting, budgeting and managing their tire program from any device.

TreadStat receives information throughout the life of a tire: when a tire is put into inventory; when it is mounted; during inspections, rotation management and repairs; and at disposal. The dashboard also allows you to go from a five-year, 30,000-foot view of tire utilization to a complete history of an individual tire.

What information can it record?

TreadStat records and analyzes a wealth of information on any device, including enabling the user to:

• Capture vehicle inspection data online or offline
• Upload inspections
• Record tire pressure and tread depth
• Note critical inspections that require immediate action
• Share inspection summary information via email
• Manage a global operation via one system to unify data-driven tire and rim management decisions
• Share data instantaneously across the globe with the system’s multilingual support

It also integrates with B-TAG – Bridgestone’s remote tire temperature and pressure monitoring system.

Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations commercial OTR president Taylor Cole said having a complete and real-time view of every tire’s status could “reduce one of a fleet’s largest annual operating expenses, tire and rim management, to significantly increase the bottom line.”
