Smithers has announced the official agenda for Carbon Black World Asia 2026, the only conference dedicated exclusively to the carbon black industry.

The event will take place on April 22–23, 2026, in Shanghai, China, and will be delivered in a hybrid format, prioritizing in-person engagement while enabling international participation through online access.

Carbon Black World Asia 2026 agenda is structured around seven thematic sessions, reflecting the industry’s accelerating transition toward low-carbon materials and advanced applications:

Market Outlook and Strategy
Carbon Black Applications and End-User Insights
Hearing from Carbon Black Players
Sustainability and Circularity in Carbon Materials
Technical Innovations Enabling Net Zero and Sustainability
Advancing and Transforming Carbon Black
Technical Innovation and Process Improvement

The 2026 Agenda features a mix of keynote speaker presentations, panel discussions, and dedicated networking opportunities, designed to foster knowledge exchange and business collaboration.

Among the highlights of the agenda is a keynote address by Lu Jia, Global Manager, Fillers & Sustainability, Strategic Supplier Development at Continental Tires. She will present “Decarbonization Roadmap of Continental Tires” on the morning of 22 April (Day 1), outlining the company’s strategic approach to reducing carbon emissions across its materials and supply chain.

The keynote will be followed by a presentation from Li Yanguo, Director of the Formulation Department at Linglong Tire, titled “Research on the Application of Bio-based Materials in Tires.”

Transition toward sustainability is another core theme of this year’s agenda, with dedicated sessions examining future market trends, critical rubber performance properties, and the development of low-carbon, recyclable materials. As part of the “Hearing from Carbon Black Players” sessions, Anil Nandakumar, Global Market Development Lead at Birla Carbon, will present “Survey of Rubber Performance of Various Sustainable Carbonaceous Materials (rCB).”

The agenda also places strong emphasis on Sustainability and the Circular Economy. The panel session Commercial Outlook of Carbon Black is a key example of this and will feature Wang Jing, Head of Purchasing – Raw Materials, APAC at Continental Tires, who will provide insights into conventional Carbon Black, sustainable Carbon Black and impacts from market dynamics such as EV.

Finally, the theme of sustainability in carbon materials runs throughout the show and is addressed in multiple sessions, including EWaste Tire Pyrolysis Empowering the Practical Implementation of Circular Economy in the Carbon Black Industry. Delivered by ZHOU Ping, General Manager & Senior Engineer, ECOSTAR.

Together, these sessions provide actionable insights into how sustainability targets, regulatory pressure, and end-user demand are reshaping material selection, production technologies, and commercial investment strategies.

Carbon Black World Asia 2026 brings together a diverse and influential audience spanning the full carbon black ecosystem, including:

Global tire manufacturers such as Michelin, Linglong Tire, and BKT Tires
Leading carbon black producers, including Cabot, Birla Carbon, Ralson Carbon, and Black Cat Carbon Black
Equipment and process solution providers such as Continental Industrie, DELAVAN, ECOSTAR, RotoBoost, and Zircoa
Environmental and supporting system providers, including HD Hyundai, TANCEN, and Ecomak

Their collective presence creates a high-value environment for strategic partnerships, technology exchange, and long-term collaboration across materials, processing, and sustainability initiatives.

As the carbon black industry shifts toward a greener and more sustainable future, the carbon black market will shift more from volume expansion to a focus on quality transformation. Future growth will rely more heavily on technological innovation and sustainable development. Carbon Black World Asia 2026 will showcase new research and best practices to help carbon black industry players achieve growth in a changing environment.
