Bridgestone Americas has appointed Jacques Fourie to the newly created position of President, Canada, putting a dedicated executive in charge of its Canadian business.

Working from Bridgestone's Mississauga, Ontario, office, Fourie will hold end-to-end responsibility for strategy, commercial operations and long-term growth planning across Canada. The company said the in-country leadership role is intended to speed up decision-making, improve coordination across the Canadian business and keep it closer to customers and teammates.

Canada is an important market for Bridgestone, with strong potential for continued growth. Jacques brings extensive international leadership experience, a strong customer focus and a proven ability to build successful businesses and teams. His understanding of the North American market makes him well positioned to lead our Canadian business and strengthen the value we deliver to our customers across the country.

From Dubai to Mississauga

Fourie joined Bridgestone in 2019 and has held several senior leadership roles with the company, most recently as President of its Africa Middle East region, based in Dubai.

Before Bridgestone, he spent 15 years at Cummins in finance, sales, operations and executive roles. His North American experience there included serving as Executive Vice President of Operations and later as President of Cummins Rocky Mountain, one of the company's fast-growing North American operations.

Canada is a dynamic and strategically important market with significant opportunities ahead. I am honoured to take on this role and look forward to working closely with our customers, partners and teammates across the country. Together, we will build on the strengths of the Canadian business, deepen our customer relationships and position Bridgestone for sustainable, long-term growth.
