A partnership that rewards progress, vision, and sustainability in the agricultural sector since 2020: BKT and Tractor of the Year renew their commitment to promoting excellence that drives the future of agriculture.

At Agritechnica, Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) and Tractor of the Year once again return to share the stage to celebrate the innovation shaping agriculture. Year after year, this award pays tribute to those who design the machines to till the land while already looking beyond the horizon, envisioning the future. Since 2020, the partnership between BKT and Tractor of the Year has consistently accompanied the evolution of agricultural mechanization, lending visibility to the key players driving change.

After a thorough selection and evaluation process involving the leading tractor manufacturers and a jury of 25 specialist journalists from across Europe, the 2026 edition of Tractor of the Year has today come to an end. At the heart of this season’s competition are the major themes setting the course for the industry: more sustainable technologies, greater energy efficiency, autonomy and digitalization, and reduced environmental impact. These trends are taking on an increasingly strategic role and position this annual event as an important technological showcase, making Tractor of the Year one of the best-known and most coveted awards in the agricultural mechanization sector, merging agriculture and digital technology.

The award ceremony at Agritechnica thus becomes an international showcase for recognizing the tractor models that best interpret this transformation in each category.

The awards granted by the jury in the six competition categories are:

TOTY HighPower – CLAAS Axion 9.450 Terra Trac
TOTY MidPower – FENDT 516 Vario
TOTY Utility – VALTRA G125 CVT Active
TOTY Specialized – NEW HOLLAND T4.120 F Auto Command
TOTY Sustainable – JCB Fastrac 6300
TOTY Bot – AGXEED 2.055 W3

“In agriculture, innovation is not an option: it is the path to continue feeding the world in a both intelligent and respectful manner. Tractor of the Year rewards those who make this vision a reality, every day. For BKT, supporting this award means believing in a bold vision of progress: shared, sustainable, and driven by people's talent. Only by joining forces, knowledge, and tools can we build an agricultural future that truly meets global challenges." — Lucia Salmaso, Managing Director, BKT Europe

" Tractor of the Year is not just an award, but a true observatory on the evolution of farming technology. Each edition enables us to analyze how research and innovation are transforming tractors into increasingly advanced, intelligent, and connected machinery," comments Fabio Zammaretti, President, Tractor of the Year. "TOTY also provides us with privileged insights into technological trends, allowing us to understand how the sector is moving and, above all, bringing visibility to the manufacturers who are defining the future of agriculture."

One edition closes, but the journey of innovation continues. Tractor of the Year and BKT keep looking ahead, where the future of agricultural mechanization is being written every day—one challenge at a time. The appointment is set for the 2027 edition: new technologies, new visions, and the same shared determination to build the agriculture of tomorrow together.
