The Electric Vehicle Advisory Council (EVAC), operating under the Tire Industry Association (TIA), has released a comprehensive EV/Hybrid Terminology Glossary to assist industry professionals, legislators, and regulators in better understanding the evolving landscape of electric and hybrid vehicles.

Designed as an essential resource, the glossary provides tire dealers, service technicians, and automotive professionals with the terminology needed to effectively service and maintain electric and hybrid vehicles. Additionally, it offers state and federal policymakers a clearer technical understanding of the industry, supporting informed decision-making in regulations and legislation.

“As electric and hybrid vehicles continue to reshape our industry, this glossary will be a valuable tool for both industry professionals and policymakers,” said Mark Ferner, Senior Manager, Technical Operations for Bridgestone Retail Operations and chair of TIA’s Electric Vehicle Advisory Council (EVAC).

EVAC is dedicated to identifying procedures for the safe servicing of electric vehicles and promoting them through education and training for tire, automotive, and commercial service centers. The EV/Hybrid Terminology Glossary is part of its broader mission to enhance industry knowledge and improve safety standards.

The glossary is now available to industry professionals, lawmakers, and regulatory agencies seeking to deepen their understanding of EV and hybrid vehicle service requirements. It can be accessed online at https://www.tireindustry.org/resources/reference-materials/ev-hybrid-terminology-glossary/.
