The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) has re-launched its Drive the Vote campaign ahead of this November’s midterm elections. SEMA says the campaign aims to mobilize employees of its member businesses, along with what the association describes as the nation’s 70 million automotive enthusiasts, to cast ballots. The Diamond Bar, California, association announced the relaunch on Sept. 29, 2026, in a press release.

Resources for employers and voters

According to SEMA, employers and voters can use the campaign’s Drive the Vote page to find resources for registering and voting in November, and employers can use it to inform their staff about issues facing the automotive aftermarket industry.

SEMA also notes that the 2026 SEMA Show begins on Election Day. The association advises those planning to attend the show to review their state’s laws on casting ballots ahead of Nov. 3.

What SEMA says

“Voting is a fundamentally American act, and we need everyone in the automotive aftermarket industry to get to the polls during this pivotal election and lend their voices to the political process,” said Karen Bailey-Chapman, SEMA’s senior vice president for public and government affairs. “In 2024, our community showed up in a big way by delivering a clear referendum on EV mandates and reminding lawmakers that our industry is a powerful force to reckon with. This year, we have new issues and new names on the ballot, but our mission remains the same: send pro-automotive legislators to Washington, D.C., to ensure we can deliver pro-automotive legislation and policies that support our industry and the small businesses who drive our culture.”

2026 Voter Guide

For 2026, SEMA says Drive the Vote has again developed resources intended to inform voters about where their candidates stand on automotive, racing and off-roading issues.

These include a 2026 Voter Guide led by the voter education initiative of SEMA’s Driving Force Foundation. SEMA says the guide presents information on every elected official in Congress and how each has voted on issues backed by SEMA.

About SEMA

SEMA says it represents more than 7,000 member companies that create, buy, sell and use specialty-automotive parts. The association organizes the annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas. SEMA says its member benefits include product development resources, market research, networking, education and legislative advocacy.

More information on the campaign is available on SEMA’s Drive the Vote page.
