BendPak reports that BendPak and Ranger tire changers and wheel balancers have achieved ETL certification to applicable UL and CSA safety standards after an intensive 18-month engineering and validation project.
Teams reviewed electrical architecture, wiring, motors, controls, switches, circuit protection, grounding, and safety interlocks, along with mechanical and pneumatic systems such as rotating assemblies, structural parts, pressure controls, and guarding. Operator safety work covered pinch points, moving components, electrical and fire hazards, and pressure systems common in tire and wheel service. Where designs fell short, components were redesigned or replaced and safeguards added before testing and validation.
ETL certification provides independent verification that applicable products have been evaluated to recognized UL and CSA standards. BendPak says the work strengthens component quality, electrical and mechanical safety, durability, and operator protection for busy shop environments, and that lessons from the program will shape future BendPak and Ranger product development.
