The Ranger division of BendPak has introduced the Ranger DST30PX Professional Wheel Balancer, a next-generation DST Series machine designed for shops that are seeing more large OEM wheel assemblies and heavy aftermarket truck tires.
BendPak said older balancing platforms can slow down when handling these bigger assemblies. The DST30PX addresses that with a redesigned hood, a larger shaft and a reworked structural chassis.
Built for bigger assemblies
The new hood accepts a wider range of tire shapes and sizes, including oversized off-road and fleet tires, without repositioning. An open-side design lets wide tires, aggressive offsets and bulky sidewalls slide in more easily, so operators can position assemblies up to 43 inches in diameter.
Ranger reinforced the chassis and hood assembly to carry heavier wheels without flexing, losing alignment or creating excess vibration, which helps keep measurements consistent. A 40 mm shaft adds stiffness and accuracy for heavier wheels while still supporting standard cones and accessories.

A 64-tooth magnetic transducer encoder with precision-cut square teeth converts rotary position into a digital signal for accurate profile readings and top-dead-center positioning. BendPak said the extra resolution helps with performance wheels, larger tires and customers sensitive to minor vibration.
Workflow features
Simple wheel data entry, rolling weight readings, automatic braking, manual or automatic hood-start and a fast cycle time are aimed at cutting wasted motion. A quick-release hub nut, side-position brake, top-dead-center weight indicator and tiered placement indicators speed setup, while a top tray, side cone pegs and a side shelf for Ranger Quick-Peel adhesive tape weight rolls keep the bay organized.

The DST30PX is ETL certified to applicable UL and CSA safety standards in the United States and Canada. It ships with a starter kit of adhesive and clip-on steel wheel weights, and Ranger Select setup and training is available.
