How to leverage Cooper and Hankook’s spring deals

It’s the season for manufacturers’ deals, with both Cooper Tire and Hankook Tire us launching campaigns to give customers money back when they make an eligible purchase How can you leverage these deals and turn them into more sales?

Between March 1 and April 15, Cooper Tire is offering customers up to $70 back when they purchase a new set of four qualifying Cooper tires at participating dealers through its popular Take the Money & Ride reward event. Hankook will be promoting its 2016 Great Catch mail-in rebate, offering customers buying four qualifying tires from March 19 to May 22 between $50 and $100 back. Both offers are in the form of a pre-paid American Express card.

How can I leverage these deals to boost my business?

Deals that offer customers money back on their purchases always result in a spike in sales, so you want to make sure consumers are coming to you to get their special offer, rather than to your competitor. If you sell tires that are eligible for a money back deal, there are quite a few simple ways to promote these offers effectively and bring customers through your door.

Website and email

Make sure you promote the deals on your website — preferably on the home page — for the duration of the campaigns. You can change your regular print advertising to include the promotions and consider changing your regular radio spots to include this information. If you maintain a customer database (and you should), then you have an ideal opportunity to let them know via an email newsletter.

Twitter and Facebook

Social media channels are perfect for promoting special offers; add the offers to your business’s Facebook page and tweet and post about them regularly. Don’t go overboard though, people don’t like being bombarded, so once a week is about right for Facebook and tweet once a day.

Add a sense of urgency

During the last week of the campaigns, it’s a good idea to add a sense of urgency to your promotions; think about using phrases like “don’t miss out,” or “one week left” to prompt potential customers into action. Making sure your customers know they can get a great deal at your dealership should have them beating a path to your door and hopefully coming back too.

Point-of-sale

Obviously include the deals in your point-of-sale conversations with your customers — they’ll be pleased you’re saving them cash.
