Leeds West Groups (LWG) celebrated the grand opening of a new Big O Tires store in Albuquerque on Thursday, Oct. 22. Located at 3130 Coors Blvd. NW, the store is the company's 10th Big O Tires location in New Mexico. The company announced the opening on Oct. 26.

The store is now open for service from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The grand opening celebration included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, local catering and music from radio station 100.3 The Peak. It also featured a $1,000 check presentation to the 100 Club of New Mexico.

An investment in Albuquerque

Derek Wessels, CEO of Leeds West Groups, said the opening reflects the company's commitment to the city.

This opening marks our 10th Big O Tires location in New Mexico, and we're proud of the relationships we continue to build here. For us, this is an investment in Albuquerque and in the people who call it home. We're very proud to be part of this community and look forward to earning our neighbors' trust for years to come.

The Coors Boulevard store expands LWG's existing Albuquerque footprint. According to the company, its team will focus on clear communication and dependable service, taking time to explain recommended work and answer customers' questions. The company also said the store offers digital vehicle inspections that let customers review findings and discuss recommended work with the team.

Preston Brown, vice president of LWG Big O Tires, said the approach is about knowing the neighborhood.

Award-winning service means getting to know our neighbors and understanding what they need from us. People rely on their vehicles to get to work, take their kids to school, and manage their everyday lives. Now we can make that part of their day a little easier, and we take that responsibility seriously.

$1,000 donation to the 100 Club of New Mexico

As part of the opening, Big O Tires presented a $1,000 donation to the 100 Club of New Mexico, which provides financial assistance to the spouses and dependents of law enforcement officers and firefighters who lose their lives in the line of duty. The company said the gift reflects its commitment to supporting first responders and their families.

Wessels said community support was meant to be part of the opening from the beginning.

We wanted community support to be part of this opening from the beginning. This $1,000 donation is a tangible way to thank and support the families of local first responders who have paid the ultimate price.

Bill Henz, president of the 100 Club of New Mexico, thanked the company.

When a law enforcement officer or firefighter dies in the line of duty, their family needs support. We're grateful to Big O Tires for this donation, which helps us provide financial assistance to those families.
