CMA and Double Coin have introduced the RLB406, a closed-shoulder drive-position tire for long-haul and regional commercial trucking. The companies announced the tire on Oct. 27 and say it is engineered to deliver dependable traction, long tread life and fuel-efficient performance across a wide range of applications.
We are covering the launch for dealers, distributors and fleet-facing tire shops that sell and service commercial truck tires. Double Coin tires are supplied by CMA, LLC, and the RLB406 adds a new drive-position option to the lineup for fleets that run on highway and regional routes.
Deeper tread and a wider footprint
Double Coin says the RLB406’s wide footprint combines a deep, durable tread with features designed to give commercial fleets superior traction and maximized tire service life in all operating conditions.
The tire has a full 28/32-inch tread depth. According to Double Coin, that gives it “17% more usable original tread than the previous Double Coin drive tire marketed offering in the fuel-efficient segment.” The company says the extra-deep tread is designed to provide exceptionally long wear across multiple applications, helping fleets get more from their tire investment.
Aaron Murphy, senior vice president at CMA/Double Coin, spoke to the thinking behind the design:
“The RLB406 was developed with the needs of today’s commercial end-user in mind,” said Aaron Murphy, senior vice president at CMA/Double Coin. “By combining a newly designed extra-wide tread footprint with a closed-shoulder design, the RLB406 offers dependable traction, and a casing that offers multiple retreads. We know the RLB406 gives a user a versatile drive tire designed to perform throughout the lifecycle needs of the tire.”
Warranty and retread guarantee
The RLB406 is protected by what Double Coin calls its industry leading 7-year warranty and 3 retread guarantee.
Sizes, availability and SmartWay status
The RLB406 will be available in late Q4 2026 in four main sizes:
295/75R22.5
11R22.5
285/75R24.5
11R24.5
The tire is SmartWay verified, which Double Coin says offers fleets a balance of performance, durability and operating efficiency. Full specifications are listed in the RLB406 spec sheet (PDF), and the company’s own announcement is available on the Double Coin newsroom.
Double Coin says the RLB406 further expands its commercial tire lineup and reinforces its commitment to developing application-focused solutions for today’s transportation industry. Earlier this month, CMA and Double Coin also added two 29-inch sizes to the REM2 off-the-road tire line.
