Cooper tires set to star in new classic car TV role
Cooper Tire is set to star in a new HISTORY Channel TV series called Big Easy Motors.
The show, which premieres tonight, follows presenter Charles Handler as he scours Louisiana in search of forgotten classic cars and transforms them into amazing custom automobiles.
Handler, who owns The Bomb Factory in New Orleans’ Ninth Ward, conceptualizes and restores cars from every decade at his body shop studio. Each vehicle is turned into a unique piece of automotive art, “revitalizing history along the way.”
As the preferred tire of the show, Cooper’s tires will be used on the vehicles throughout the series — on everything from muscle cars to trucks.
Cooper’s director of brand development Jessica Egerton said the partnership with a program restoring and reconceptualizing classic cars is fitting because Cooper has more than a century in the tire industry.
Cooper’s heritage perfect for classic cars
“We know that people don’t just drive on our tires; they depend on them. We are passionate about designing products that meet the needs of all consumers—whether driving a classic car or something newer.
“We’re excited to work with Big Easy Motors in appealing to both car enthusiasts and history buffs, which is a great fit for Cooper’s long legacy in the tire industry.”
David DeSocio, senior vice president of advertising sales, marketing and partnerships at A&E Networks, said: “The partnership with Cooper is totally organic and provides the perfect touch, allowing Cooper and HISTORY to breathe new life to classic cars.”
“Cooper tires were the ideal choice for the Big Easy Motors restoration of a 1970 Camaro and 1968 Plymouth Fury, helping to bring these classic beauties to their former glory.”
More than 96 million homes now have HISTORY, which makes other programs including Pawn Stars and American Pickers.
