Uniroyal launches commercial truck tires in the U.S.
After decades of supplying car, minivan, SUV and pickup tires, Uniroyal has branched out into the commercial truck field, launching a line of six new tires for U.S. market.
The new tire line promises to meet the diverse needs of owner-operators and small fleets with products for every tire position and application — from long-haul and regional to on-/off-road, including dry van, flatbed, construction, and pickup and delivery.
Why has Uniroyal entered the market now?
Donna Murphy, business segment manager for Uniroyal Commercial Truck Tires, said the U.S. replacement market has been growing over the last two years, with growth coming in the lower intermediate and budget segments of the market.
“The Uniroyal brand has provided affordable and dependable passenger and light truck tires for over 120 years,” she said.
“We are now bringing that same value to the commercial truck industry for owner-operators and small fleets who are price conscious and looking for a reliable and dependable tire offer.
“Truckers deserve a tire that works as hard as they do, at an affordable price.”
Murphy said Uniroyal commercial truck tires are backed by a four-year manufacturer’s warranty and certain tires used in long-haul and regional applications are also covered by a one-year re-tread limited warranty. Uniroyal tires also contain strategic features, including pyramidal steel belts, insulating belt edge strips and a heavy gauge inner liner, that work together to reduce stress, promote endurance and protect the tire’s casing, she said.
Two of the tires, Uniroyal RS20 and Uniroyal LS24, are SmartWay-verified and meet the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements for outstanding fuel efficiency.

The new range of tires is currently being shipped to dealers and is available for sale. Dealers can request more information from their local Michelin salesperson. Uniroyal has produced an informational video on its new line of commercial truck tires.
