At an online SEMA Show with very few tire manufacturers in attendance, two TPMS systems were runners-up in the SEMA360 “best new product” awards.

While Mickey Thompson’s Baja Boss A/T tires took out top honors in the “tire and related product” section, the second-place getters were Bartech USA’s Tech600 Pro TPMS reader and the Quickset X summer/winter tire reset tool from Ateq.

The awards were announced Monday, the first day of the first-ever entirely virtual SEMA.

Let’s take a look at the products.

ATeq’s Quickset X

The Quickset X is the successor to the well-known Quickset TMPS tool and is specifically designed with the fast and efficient swapping of summer and winter tires in mind.

In fact, however you’re using the Quickset X, it’s designed for easy use. Simply scan the sensors and reset the system right from the handset, without the need for external software.

ATeq says the Quickset X displays all sensor data in seconds, including the TPMS sensor ID, tire pressure, tire temperature, frequency and battery status. It activates, diagnoses and reads 100 percent of original equipment and aftermarket TPMS sensors, with coverage right up to 2020.

Both manual and OBDII relearns are available, with instructions built into the tool.

Not to be outdone, Bartech has also released a TPMS tool that caught the SEMA judges’ eyes: the Tech600 Pro.

The Tech600Pro’s high-resolution color display, graphic user interface, a long-life rechargeable battery and improved LF signal circuit design make it faster to use, Bartech says. It’s also completely wireless, with Wi-Fi updates, Bluetooth and inductive charging. The wireless is reliable up to 26 feet.

The Tech600Pro eliminates any need to dismantle a wheel to get to the sensor and can distinguish between OE and aftermarket sensors, so you know which service kit is needed before work begins. Two years’ worth of software and service updates are included with the scan tool.
