As SEMA nears Traction News launches mobile app for dealers
Following feedback from readers who wanted to be able to catch up with Traction News on the go, the online magazine has launched a free app, just in time for the SEMA Show.
The free app is available for download on iOS and Android and features all of Traction News’ latest articles with optional notifications as soon as a new article goes live on the site so dealers can stay up to date. It also gives access to Traction News’ archives, enables readers to “favorite” articles for later reference and gives them the ability to comment on articles and to share content from the app to their social media and via email. More features will be added to the app in the future.
Great for keeping up to date at SEMA and on the move
“Our team works very hard to bring dealers across North America all the news they need to help make their businesses stronger than ever,” said Traction News’ managing editor Dan Hatch. “So it’s fantastic that dealers can now access our articles at any time, wherever they are, through their cell phone or tablet.
“I’m sure our dealers will love the convenience the Traction News app offers. It’ll be a great way to keep up with everything that’s happening at SEMA and, beyond that, all the important developments happening in our industry.”
A magazine dedicated to the tire industry
Traction News is an online magazine for people in the business of selling tires and provides new articles every weekday focusing on product information, expert opinion, industry news and events and original research. It also provides business insights and marketing news and information to help tire dealers run a successful tire business.
Hatch said the app was developed after hearing from dealers who wanted more ways to access Traction News’ content. Most dealers said they checked the site once a day over a morning coffee or in the evening but wanted to have the online magazine available at their fingertips. Many also wanted to be notified of new articles on the site but didn’t necessarily want to wait for the magazine’s weekly e-newsletter.
Apps can offer significant benefits to tire dealers
The app was created by Traction News’ publisher Tireweb Marketing, which now has a mobile app team that helps dealers build their own apps, including appointment scheduling, tire lookup, coupons and push notifications to consumers.
Tireweb Marketing focuses on retail and custom e-commerce websites and marketing services for tire businesses, including its popular product Ezytire. The company will be demonstrating the power of apps for the tire industry at this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
Traction News will also be at SEMA again this year, with managing editor Dan Hatch and editor-in-chief Sarah Mitchell on hand to chat and answer any questions every day. You can find the Traction News and Tireweb Marketing teams both at booth 42296 in South Hall.
