Hunter Engineering showcase its next-generation drive over tire tread depth measuring tool, Quick Tread EdgeTM and its new unmanned alignment inspection system, Quick Check DriveTM at the 2018 SEMA Show (South Hall, Booth #41013).
Quick Tread EdgeTM
Quick Tread EdgeTM delivers detailed tire condition diagnosis in less time and with added edge wear detection, provides a greater analysis of overall tire condition. Service providers can now better identify tire wear on the ‘edge’ of every tire, while providing customers with informative, in-depth inspection results.
“When a vehicle is moving, a worn edge is actually in contact with the road and cannot shed water during wet conditions, resulting in a loss of traction,” noted Hunter product manager, Alex Smith. “A worn inner-edge may be invisible to advisors on the service drive, making automatic edge wear detection a critical piece in providing a complete summary of a tire’s overall tread depth.”
Quick Tread EdgeTM can be installed as a standalone unit with two mounting options, or integrated in a flush mount configuration with Hunter’s touchless alignment inspection system, Quick Check DriveTM. Quick Tread EdgeTM introduces a durable, pedestal-free design, allowing service providers maximized shop space.
Quick Check DriveTM
Released in July 2018, Quick Check DriveTM is Hunter’s latest inspection technology that provides instantaneous alignment readings and requires no human involvement. Quick Check DriveTM is an innovative leap from the original Quick Check®, Hunter’s vehicle inspection system that was released in 2011.
Quick Check DriveTM features optional body damage image viewing through HunterNet, Hunter’s online business intelligence tool. With this feature, service providers can capture 40 or more images per vehicle without a time penalty and protect themselves against questionable damage claims.
In addition, Quick Check DriveTM features integrated license plate cameras that provide automatic vehicle identification, powered by CARFAXTM, eliminating the need for manual specification lookup.
