Tire innovation front and center at REIFEN show
The world’s latest and greatest innovations in tire design will be front and center once again at this year’s REIFEN show in Germany.
REIFEN is the only trade fair anywhere in the world to cover the entire value-added chain of the tire — from the stages before manufacturing right through to retreading and recycling.
This year’s show is on from May 24 to 27 in Essen, Germany, and Traction News will be there to bring you all the news you need to know.
Tire industry “Oscars” to award innovation
The global tire industry meets in Essen every two years to showcase its innovations, developments and trends. This year will feature exhibitors from 44 countries and trade visitors from more than 130 countries. More than 600 exhibitors will present their newest tires and technology.
During the show the Federal Association of the Tire Trade and the Vulcanisers’ Skilled Trade organization will honor the best products and services with an innovation award — regarded as the “Oscar” of the world’s tire sector.
An independent expert jury will assess the most innovative and most pioneering ideas in the tire and garage sectors and in four categories, including technology and products, service concepts and process optimization, environmental and resource conservation as well as motor vehicle service.
Finalists for the prize will be judged on environmental compatibility, sustainability, resource saving, innovation content and economic viability.
Major manufacturers and allied companies to exhibit
Twenty of the world’s largest tire manufacturers will exhibit at this year’s show, as will wholesalers including Interpneu, Heuver, Deldo and Inter-Sprint. They will be joined by major wheel rim manufacturers, garage equipment suppliers, specialists for retreading and tire dealers. Among those attending are Uniwheels, Ronal, BBS and Momo.
Retreaders attending include VMI, Galgo Pre Qnv, B&J Rocket Sales AG, Elgi Rubber and Matteuzzi. Garage equipment suppliers attending include Bosch, REMA TIP TOP, ASE Corghi and Snap-on.
