Nokian Tires announced they are extending the use of their Aramid Sidewall technology to van and campervan tires. The technology will now be available to professional drivers and campers, as the Aramid Sidewall structure, containing durable aramid fibre will now be used by these tires.
Aramid Sidewall technology is durable and reliable
Van and cargo van tires are used for vehicles that are heavy and often driven fully loaded on poor roads, gravel and over curbs. The tires must bear the entire weight of the vehicle and provide safe and stable handling under all conditions.
“We want to offer cargo and commercial van drivers the same durability that the users of our SUV and LT tires are already receiving,” said Petri Niemi, head of product and pricing management for Nokian Tires. “In addition to protecting against unplanned additional costs caused by tire damage, Aramid fiber also ensures reliability in unpredictable situations.”
Aramid fiber reduces costs and adds peace of mind
Curb edges and potholes may severely damage a tire, and sidewall damage often requires purchasing a new tire. The strong core of Aramid Sidewall technology is the Aramid fiber contained in the innovative sidewall structure. The same material is also utilized by the aerospace and defense industries. The aramid fiber reinforces the sidewall to better withstand external impacts, cuts and depressions.
Aramid Sidewall technology is already in use for several years on Nokian Tires’ SUV. The extension of the technology can now be found in all van and cargo van products on the market.
