NHTSA announces Cooper Tire recall of 41,014 tires

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) published on their website that Cooper Tire is recalling 41,014 tires for possible belt separation. The tires were manufactured with an incorrect belt rubber compound that may result in poor adhesion of the rubber to the belt wires, potentially resulting in a belt separation.

Cooper will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires, free of charge. Cooper has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Cooper customer service at 1-800-854-6288.
