BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport now available for sale

The new BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport tire is now available for sale at more than 20,000 authorized dealers across the U.S. BFGoodrich says this new year-round tire is designed with improved traction, handling and braking performance.

It is available in 54 sizes for a wide selection of sedan, sporty coupe, passenger CUV and minivan fitments, ranging from 15” to 18” with T, H and V speed ratings, and it will include six new sizes not offered previously – three 18”, two 17”, and one 16”. Additional sizes for CUV, SUV and pickup trucks will arrive in 2017 when BFGoodrich launches the Advantage T/A Sport LT.

New technology drives better handling

The new Advantage T/A Sport tire is the product of years of research and innovative technology, the company says. BFGoodrich says its locking 3-D Active Sipe Technology helps enhance longevity and performance, with the sipes locking together under the tire’s footprint to provide stability.

This gives the tire more biting edges for increased wet and light snow traction – 12 percent better wet braking and 15 percent better snow traction, in fact. It also promises 15 percent better handling in dry conditions.

BFGoodrich’s Next Generation Equal Tension Containment (ETC) system keeps the tire footprint optimized during cornering and high-speed situations, while the Next Generation g-Wedge Sidewall Stabilizer helps to ensure crisp handling and a comfortable ride. A continuous center rib delivers consistent steering response, while full-depth features help maintain consistent performance and look throughout the life of the tire.

Performance and versatility

The company says the Advantage T/A Sport delivers an “ideal combination of performance and versatility. Excellent steering response, handling and durability combine with optimal flexibility to prepare drivers for a wide range of changing weather and road conditions.”

“BFGoodrich Tires has enjoyed incredible success with its last two tires – the All-Terrain T/A KO2 and g-force COMP2 A/S,” said BFGoodrich Tires marketing manager Jon Hausman. “This Advantage T/A Sport tire is designed for broad usage in some of the most popular vehicles, while providing drivers with timely performance when they need it during their everyday driving behavior and allowing them to explore the fun driving can provide.”
