Mazda picks Yokohama’s Geolandar for CX-9
Mazda has chosen Yokohama’s Geolandar H/T G056 as the original equipment tire for its all-new CX-9.
The Mazda CX-9 is a midsize crossover SUV new to the American market this year. Two tire sizes will be supplied: P255/60R18 107H and 255/60R18 108H.
The Geolandar H/T G056 was developed as a highway terrain tire for use on midsize and large SUVs. Yokohama says sales the tire are “expanding around the globe”.
“Developed to meet drivers’ demands for tires that deliver exceptional wear resistance and durability, quietness and comfort, and handling performance, the Geolandar H/T G056 delivers a comfortable ride on city streets and out on the highway,” the company says.
Mazda’s new generation line-up
The new CX-9 is a high-end model in Mazda’s new-generation lineup. Mazda says the vehicle “moves toward a more premium design execution and achieves an enhanced Jinba-ittai driving feel” (in other words, providing drivers with a sense of ‘oneness’ with their vehicle).
Madza says the SUV has a comfortable interior compartment with easy-to-use features and “delivers outstanding fuel efficiency and safety performance”.
