Maxxis unveils new HP and run flat tires at REIFEN

At the REIFEN Show in Germany last week, manufacturer Maxxis announced ten new patterns, including new high-performance and run flat tires.

The new Premitra HP5 is a high-performance tire for luxury and passenger cars. The tire features three central ribs “to offer straight-line stability at high speed along with optimal handling.” It uses a full-silica compound that adds to the tire’s durability.

The tire was first launched in China in May last year and later won the Tire of the Year Award from Motor Trend Magazine in Shanghai.

Maxxis also revealed for the first time its new run flat tire, the M36+, which has an asymmetrical tread design and an advanced silica-rich compound meant to “deliver an outstanding ultra-high-performance summer tire, complete with enhanced wet and dry grip.”

Maxxis also showed its latest high-performance winter tire offering, which includes the PCR WP6, the WS2 for SUVs and the WL2 for vans and light trucks. The company said these tires provide “unrivalled snow traction, superior water drainage and snow removal, alongside robust braking performance.”

Other new tires include the Mecotra ME3 — an energy-saving tire, designed for compact cars — the AP2 high-performance PCR tire for all seasons, the AL2 van and light truck all-rounder, the new MCV3+ van and light truck tire, and the RAZR MT-772 — Maxxis’ newest mud-terrain tire for off-road racing.

Maxxis’ managing director of international sales, Lenny Lee, said: “It’s been a busy year in the research and development department of Maxxis and we’re incredibly proud to be using the REIFEN event as a platform to introduce our latest creations to the market.”

“I think our new and diverse range of tires demonstrates that we… are extremely serious when it comes to assessing market demand and drawing upon our expertise to design and deliver high-performance, quality products that exceed expectations time and time again.”
