The Hankook Optimo H725 is one of the company’s better all-season multi-performance tires currently on the market. We’ve compiled information from multiple sources to make it easier for you to learn about these very good tires.
Industry insider says there’s nothing “bad” or “ugly” about them
A Traction News’ industry insider said the Optimo H725 is “one of their good tires.” When asked about the “good, the bad, and the ugly” about the tires, he said “honestly, there is no bad or ugly about the Hankook Optimo H725. It is true that the Optimo H727 is a better tire, but the H725 is also a very good tire with nothing to not recommend it.”
If there was anything negative about Optimo H725, Hankook wouldn’t be able to offer an 80,000 mile treadwear warranty as well as a built-in road hazard warranty. Additionally, if it wasn’t a very good tire, it would not be original equipment on so many cars.

What Hankook says about the Optimo H725
Hankook says the Optimo H725 “features a smooth ride and reduced noise levels as well as excellent wet and dry performance.” On their performance scale it received an excellent rating for treadwear, although the grades vary slightly. It is graded as delivering very good performance in wet and dry conditions, noise, and comfort.
Hankook also says it’s an eco-friendly tire and has pretty good performance in icy conditions. The kerf design and density are there to help provide multiple edges to dig in for better traction when driving in snowy or icy conditions.
Uniform Tire Quality Grading
Most sizes of Hankook’s Optimo H725 were given grades of “B” for temperature resistance. The only size that wasn’t is the P235/55R19, which received an “A.” All of the available sizes received UTQG grades of “A” for traction. The P235/50R17 received a treadwear score of 740, the two P235/55R18 tires both earned scores of 620, and a 600 was awarded to the 19-inch version. All the other tires scored at 700.
Consumer reviews of the tires from people who have bought and used them range from extremely good to OK, with not many people having opinions in between.
