Goodyear recalls Dunlop SP50 radials after fault found
Some Dunlop SP50 tires have been recalled after it was found they fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says Goodyear Tire and Rubber is recalling Dunlop SP50 tires in size P205/70R15 95T, manufactured December 2, 2012 to February 1, 2014.
The tire tread of the affected tires may chunk off if driven with low tire pressure. If the tire tread chunks off during low tire inflation, tire failure may result increasing the risk of a crash.
Goodyear will notify owners. Dealers will replace tires, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin September 15, 2016.
Owners may contact Goodyear customer service at 1-800-592-3267. Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to the Safer Car website.
