Here’s the deal: Goodyear’s Workhorse & Armor Max Pro
Goodyear’s mixed-service tire line-up has expanded to include three new hardworking tires. The new Workhorse MSA, Workhorse MSD and Armor Max Pro Grade MSD tires are now available for a range of applications, are tougher than ever and will save money, Goodyear says.
Here’s everything you need to know.
The Goodyear Workhorse MSA
The Workhorse MSA is available in three sizes:
• 11R22.5 (Load Range H)
• 11R24.5 (Load Range H)
• 315/80R22.5 (Load Range L – 10,000 lb. capacity)
It has a high-mileage tread compound and enhanced tread volume, as well as a wide footprint to help enhance mileage, cornering and handling. Penetration protectors help resist stone drilling for retreadability, and the MSA has a steel belt/casing package for toughness and a tread design that helps reduce road noise for a quiet ride.
The Goodyear Workhorse MSD
The Workhorse MSD is available in two sizes: 11R22.5 and 11R24.5 (Load Range H).
The Workhorse MSD has been designed for use both on and off-road. It features rugged casing construction for enhanced toughness and retreadability in heavy-duty, off-road applications. It has a deep 31/32-inch tread with a rugged lug configuration to help deliver traction on difficult terrain, a tread compound to help resist cuts and chips for off-road performance and a deep undertread to help promote cool-running performance while on the road. Like the MSA, it has a steel belt/casing package to help enhance retreadability.
“As the Workhorse name denotes, these new tires are tough, dependable and help mixed-service trucks tackle tough jobs,” said Goodyear marketing manager Evan Perrow. “We believe they will help mixed-service fleets get the job done, while helping to lower their operating costs.”

The Goodyear Armor Max Pro Grade MSD
The Armor Max Pro Grade MSD is available in three sizes: 11R22.5, 11R24.5 and 12R22.5 (Load Range H).
Goodyear’s latest truck tire is the Armor Max Pro Grade MSD, released in July this year. It is specially designed for the tough work done by construction, cement and coal trucks.
The tire also features a premium-quality casing for enhanced retreadability and rugged tread design for better on- and off-road traction. It also has a tough tread compound to help resist chipping and chunking, mixed-service undertread compound for enhanced casing toughness and cool-running base compound to help promote long tread life and lower rolling resistance.
Goodyear says tire’s DuraSeal Technology allows it to seal ¼-inch nail-hole punctures areas of the tread that are repairable.
“Part of the Goodyear Total Solution for fleets, the Goodyear Armor Max Pro Grade MSD builds on the toughness of the popular Goodyear G177, while providing enhanced traction, miles to removal and retread ability,” said Perrow.
“Goodyear’s Total Solution is designed to help hardworking fleets lower their operating costs,” Perrow said. “We believe the new Goodyear Armor Max Pro Grade MSD will contribute to the achievement of this critical objective in a big way.”
