BFGoodrich promises “fun” with new Advantage Sport

BFGoodrich Tires will release an all-new Advantage T/A Sport which it promises will “bring fun to drivers’ daily routines”, from August 1.

The company claims the all-season tire is designed with improved traction, handling and braking performance “to extract maximum enjoyment out of everyday driving without sacrificing the practicality that drivers require”.

The Advantage T/A Sport is available in a range of sedan, sporty coupe, passenger CUV and minivan fitments.

BFGoodrich marketing manager Jon Hausman said, “The overall message to drivers with active lifestyles, busy family lives or a combination thereof is simple. You don’t have to settle for merely getting from point A to point B. Because performance is happening with these tires on every drive, you can have a little fun along the way, every day with the BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport tire.”

Advantage Sport’s performance and features

BFGoodrich says its internal testing showed the new Advantage T/A Sport had 12 percent better wet braking and third party testing showed 15 percent better snow traction. It also demonstrated more control on curves and corners with 15 percent better dry handling.

The tire has locking 3D active sipe technology to enhance longevity and performance. The sipes lock together under the tire’s footprint to provide stability, which BFGoodrich says translates into confidence behind the wheel and gives the tire more biting edges for significantly increased wet and light snow traction.

The tire is also made with BFGoodrich’s all-season tread compounds and Aqua-Flume Technology to aid grip and excellent wet-weather performance.

The manufacturer said the Next Generation ETEC (Equal Tension Containment) System keeps the tire footprint optimized during cornering and high-speed situations, while the Next Generation g-Wedge Sidewall Stabilizer helps to “ensure crisp handling and a comfortable ride”.

The tire has a continuous center rib to help with steering response and road feel.
